Intentional Thinking Creates Your Best Work

Most people live their lives in autopilot.

How they work. How they raise kids. How they take care of their health.

If all you do is hope things work out, you are likely to be disappointed.

The most powerful work you do is centered around being present to who you are being.

To be present, you must create the space to allow for it.

Let's discuss this, how your intentions matter and play a role in the quality your work.

free tools from New Work Revolution

Today we share with you Three Free Tools that New Work Revolution offers to you as a 'thank you' for listening to this podcast.

Being the beginning of 2020, these tools are perfectly timed to assist you at the best time possible. Running and growing your business can be daunting without the right guidance. Today's resources are here to assist you to avoid the pitfalls that make it difficult to succeed.

Who You Were Created to Be

When you understand yourself and the game that you are playing in, you learn how to manuever inside of that game to create something in a way that is unique to you and powerful for the world around you. Don't get caught up in the conventional wisdom of conformity. That's the game that everyone wants you to play because it's comfortable for them.
The only problem is you weren't placed here for the sake of other people's comfort. You were placed here to be a catalyst for change.

Ep 260- Book Review: The Body Keeps the Score

Most business owners that I know are big time value creators that are driven to make a difference.  That drive that pushes them to unbelievable heights doesn't always come from a great place.  Being an entrepreneur can be a lonely endeavor.  Most people don't understand you and that starts with your own family and friends. This is why it's so important to take care of your mental health and why I am talking this week about the book The Body Keeps the Score.

After spending the last two years working through my own trauma, as well as witnessing far too many past friends take their own life, I wanted to offer you a small piece of hope that you are not alone and that there are people that care about you.

This is a new format that I am bringing to the podcast where I go back and share books that I have recently read.  Let me know what you think.

Ep 257- The Key Ingredient to Success

Follow the success of high achievers and you see that they are committed to the things that they are working on and trying to accomplish.

100% committed.

When it comes to success, this week's podcast addresses three things that business owners engage in that are good things but get taken too far and get in the way of success.  In addition to that, I give you a few questions to ask yourself if you feel like you are stuck and not making the progress that you would like to be making.

Ep 253- New Year, New You?

New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions

You and I both know that the magical turning of a calendar year does not unlock some hidden super power that didn't exist for you before.  A new year can be a time for hope and optimism and a time to create space to assess where you are at and where you want to go.  Maybe you have made some New Years resolutions to create this change.  We are now a month into the year and I have one question, is the new year creating a new you?

Creating resolutions will fail when you value what you are doing over who you are being.  If you don't address the inner self game, the outside rules and checklists that you create for yourself likely aren't going to create the sort of lasting change you are looking for.

This week's podcast lays out three specific areas to focus on with your inner game to ensure that your resolutions are long lasting and permanent.

Ep 252- Finding the Power in Your Morning Routine

Starting a morning routineIt's been little bit since I have talked about the morning routine that we call a power hour. My friend Mike was asking some questions about my morning routine and rather than answer him directly with a message, like a normal person, I decided to record a podcast episode about it.

The most practical way to change who you are is to change what you do.  ~ James Clear from Atomic Habits

How you start your day can make a big difference in how you show up in that day.  The Power Hour routine serves to create space for you to participate in the expansion of your mind, body and spirit.  This doesn't mean that if you don't do a morning routine you will be a failure or that of you do a morning routine you will be a wild success.  In my years of performance coaching, I have seldom seen people try a Power Hour and regret it or feel like it didn't create power for them.

If you don't have a morning routine, now's your time to give it a shot.

Ep 249- How to Do Growth Well

Doing growth well

Doing growth well is about creating that beautiful tension between exposing weakness and then using your purpose to work through that weakness in a powerful, creative way.

Growth is one of those areas that you either learn to embrace or you learn to avoid.  To keep yourself in a growth space means that you acknowledge that you don't have all the answers and being ok with that.  It also means that your growth is likely going to change you in unfamiliar and uncomfortable ways even though that growth has created positive outcomes in your life.

Our process of Total Experience Design is about continuous improvement that leads to creating deeper experiences and connections with the people that you do business with.

Today's podcast is about how to grow well and continue moving yourself and your business forward.

We talk about:

  • Embracing failure
  • Growing in your self awareness
  • Creating space to reflect on where you are currently at
  • Getting the outside support you need to make growth happen

Ep 245- Creating Your Formula for Success

success formulaYour formula for success is unique to you.  Don't let anyone tell you different.  When it comes to success, it's easy to listen to someone or try and emulate someone else. Someone else's success came from that person being uniquely who they are, creating your own formula for success will consist of who you are.

Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. ~ Albert Einstein (credited to Einstein although there is insufficient evidence that he actual said it)

This week's podcast goes over what gets in your way from developing your own success formula and four areas to focus on to create your own formula as well as a sidebar to my last point.  I also said I would share this Matthew McConaughey clip of the Oscar speech that I reference in this week's podcast.

Ep 244- Embracing and Pursuing Freedom

freedom as a business ownerOne of the benefits of owning a business is freedom.  Freedom to work in the way that you feel best serves your purpose. It's a shame when that opportunity for freedom turns into bondage.

Bondage to a schedule.

Bondage to people.

Bondage to systems.

Bondage to your limiting beliefs.

What would it look like to create an experience for yourself?  We spend a lot of time at New Work Revolution talking about creating experiences for customers and team members and then the business owner gets lost in the shuffle.

If you aren't intentional, it's easy to create a life that serves money vs. having money that serves your life.

There are five tracks of wealth and business is only one of those tracks.

This week's podcast is about how to create the freedom you want through structure and why that is so vital to business owners.
