Retention is something that a leader should always care about when it comes to building a team. Every person that you hire is an investment that has a positive or negative ROI.
I used to worry about retention a lot. I noticed that the way I cared was more what someone leaving would mean for me vs. what it means for the purpose leaving. Ironically, when I stopped worrying about people leaving and started worrying more for my teams well being, positive things happened with my team building process.
