Extrinsic vs Intrinsic Motivators For Employees

When I ran a sales team, the sales people on my team had the opportunity to make pretty nice bonuses every single month if they made sales.  Some people earned nice bonuses, some people earned very minimal bonuses.  While I think money is important, I don’t think that it’s enough to truly move your team to greatness.

Business owners and leaders often take the easy way out when it come to motivating people, they throw money at them.  Money can be a great tool to your incentive package and it matters but there are other things that need to go with it.  These enhancements are called intrinsic motivators.  Savvy leaders look to uncover what those are from their team and use those to build their team.

This week’s quick video tip is about how to make this happen for your team.
