“I am not sure what it is that you do.”
“My friend told me that I shouldn’t use your product or service.”
“I can get it cheaper somewhere else.”
As a business owner, you will occasionally hear statements like the ones above from the public. This especially true if the business is newer. Whether you want them to or not, your customers have concerns about your product/service during your relationship with them.
Now I know what you are thinking, how can I keep my customers from thinking like this?
You can’t.
But here’s what you can do.
You can get out in front of the conversation and manage the conversations that your customers are having in their head.
How do you do that?
The first thing that you can do is compile a list like the one I have above and put together a list of the most commonly asked questions/concerns about your business.
You knew that right. So now what do you do? Most businesses address with the famous FAQ page on their site. An FAQ page might get read by a methodical type person but that’s probably about it. You don’t need to abandon a FAQ page but you can do more. What about the rest of us?
This is where technology comes in. The ability to post videos on Youtube as well as post written information through blog platforms like WordPress make creating targeted content, that addresses specific questions that your customers have, easier than ever to produce.
You know about blogging and you have no doubt watched many videos on Youtube. What you haven’t done is mapped out a schedule for addressing some of the most frequent questions that your customers have about your business and then use tools like Youtube and WordPress to create the content.
Keep in mind that your customers no doubt have concerns that they aren’t sharing with you and your business. You can’t stop them from thinking but you can put your content in front of them to help them see and think about your business in ways that you haven’t thought of before.
