This is Only a Test, If This Were An Actual Emergency….

this-is-only-a-test1I believe there are many people out there who start living their plan but stop pretty early on in the process.  The reason why they stop is because they incur some sort of set back.  It doesn’t even have to be a major one.  I honestly believe that this is a test to see how bad we actually want it.  The Emergency Broadcast System buzz should start playing in your head when this happens.

Times are not always going to be easy, whether it be in your career or a business.  The important thing with setbacks and tough times is to make sure that you learn the lesson that needed to be learned and then move on.  Don’t dwell on it.  It’s important to also note that setbacks just get you closer to your end result.

So, how do you make sure that you are prepared for setbacks?  The first is the make sure that you are clear on your purpose.  Most likely you’ve seen the movie “Rudy”.  His goal was to dress in 1 game for Notre Dame.  He certainly had many setbacks and limitations but he was always clear on his purpose.  Take time to cultivate this every day so that you have the will to stick it out.

Another important tool is to have the right people around you.  If you are constantly getting negative feedback from a friend or relative.  It’s time to cut ties with that person because it’s clear they are not in a place to be able to support you.  Great people on your team, whether they be mentors, friends or relatives, can make a big impact on what adversity you will be able to withstand.

Nothing ever worth having comes easy.  Those people who said they made millions doing nothing are lying.  They worked their tails off to make it happen.  Setbacks are tests from a higher power asking us how bad we want our goal.  Where have you encountered setbacks?  How have you been able to overcome?  How bad do you want it?
